Sponsor a pony programme

Green Cottage Riding for the Disabled Association is a registered charity offering horse riding as therapy to children from our local area with a range of disabilities and additional needs.

Founded more than 50 years ago, we operate on Thursday mornings at our base, Green Cottage Riding Centre in Three Legged Cross.

We need your help

We rely entirely on voluntary help, donations and legacies to deliver our services, which are free to the families we support.

Tangent Society donations
We provide free riding lessons for 24 children with a variety of special needs and disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism and many complex learning and development disorders. Riding helps with physical and mental health, communication and listening skills, and it’s great fun being outdoors and making new friends.

Our team consist of qualified coaches and trained helpers, all volunteers freely giving their time, dedication and knowledge. Our annual running costs are around £9000, which we raise through donations and legacies, all of which goes towards the upkeep of our special ponies and delivering quality riding therapy.

Your sponsorship

Sadly, the cost of keeping the ponies has risen with horse feed, farriery, veterinary care and insurance all increasing exponentially.

In order to meet these costs, we are introducing local businesses and groups to our new Sponsor A Pony initiative
